Dumont’s 8th Annual Bake-It-Forward will take place on Wednesday, December 17th from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at the Dumont Senior Center, 39 Dumont Avenue in Dumont, NJ. Participation is easy! Bake an extra tray of cookies / treats and deliver them to the Dumont Senior Center. These desserts will be distributed to Dumont individuals and families in need during the Holiday Season.

Redefining Retirement is hosting an information session on getting started with volunteering in retirement. We’ll also be joined by Alfie Schloss of Longbridge Financial, who will lead an informative workshop on reverse mortgages. His presentation, “Using Home Equity for a More Secure Retirement,” will cover:
<ul><li>How the FHA-Insured Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM Reverse Mortgage) works; how it can benefit some seniors; and who should not get one.</li><li>How the proprietary, Longbridge Platinum Reverse Mortgage works for high-value homes or condos that are not FHA-approved.</li><li>An introduction to Longbridge Financials’ new, first-of-its-kind HELOC for Seniors, now available in New Jersey.</li></ul>

This year’s Simbang Gabi will be celebrated on Friday, 12/19. We are introducing some format
changes to the celebrations:
Mass time. The Simbang Gabi Mass will start at 6:30 pm, instead of the usual 7:00 pm.
Nativity Presentation. A new Nativity Presentation, authored by our own Music Director, Luis Chavez, will replace the Nativity re-enactment.

New location. The new presentation will be held at the Upper Church, instead of Szelest Hall. It will immediately follow the conclusion of the Mass.

Format/Adaptation. The Nativity will be entirely scripture-based, with narrations and songs by our St. Mary’s youth.

Participants. Our children will continue to play the roles of Mary, Joseph, Angels, Shepherds and Wise men.

We are excited to introduce and share with you this new Nativity Presentation. Afterwards, Simbang Gabi celebrations will continue at Szelest Hall for the traditional dinner, raffles, Santa’s visit and line dancing.

If you are able to donate to our Christmas collection, please donate non-perishables by December 14th. Please donate all other items to the garage between 8am - 10:30am on Sunday, December 21st. Suggested menu includes Ham, Dinner rolls or biscuits, 5lb bag of potatoes, Fresh variety of vegetables, fresh fruit, butter, milk, bacon, eggs, Christmas cookies. Please also consider staples such as oatmeal, apple sauce, canned pineapple, cheese, crackers, nuts, cooking oil and a $25 gift card towards food.
