Countdown to Mayor's Wellness Campaign: Life After Cancer

Seminars and classes are part of the Mayor's Wellness Campaign.

As part of River Edge Mayor Sandy Moscaritolo's Wellness Campaign, there will be a discussion group at the River Edge Public Library on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Doug Levine, executive director of Life After Cancer Network, will be speaking about the non-pharmacological, non-surgical restoration of health to cancer survivors after their treatment has come to end.

According to Levine, there are currently 13.7 million cancer survivors in the United States and presently 450,000 in New Jersey. Life After Cancer does live power point presentations on topics such as stress, diet, exercise, vitamins, minerals, weight loss, antioxidants and more.

"We are 100 percent committed to helping cancer survivors find their new 'normal' again by giving them the tools through the information we provide," Levine said. "The sessions are free thanks to generous donations from our supporters."
