Gift Wrapping Project Generates over $12,000

Funding will benefit the Habitat Bergen Building Effort in Oradell

For the second straight year, Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County volunteers worked tirelessly, from Thanksgiving week through Christmas Eve, in a storefront at Bergen Town Center wrapping gifts for harried customers.

Amid numerous rolls of decorative paper, ribbons and bows of all colors and mountains of presents, cheerful volunteers staffed the shop each day from early morning until almost midnight.

Using donated wrapping supplies, volunteer labor and working in donated space, Habitat Bergen’s gift-wrapping effort was definitely successful in many ways. In addition to generating over $12,000 for their upcoming Oradell building project, Habitat signed-up new volunteers; publicized upcoming fundraisers and significantly reduced the stress levels of many customers who were glad to have someone else handle their wrapping details.
