Oradell Family Brings Jobs and Pizza to Paramus

The Safai family recently opened their new business venture, a Papa Johns francise on Forest Avenue, Paramus

The first Papa John's pizza restaurant may have started in Indiana and has expanded to over 3,500 franchises across the country. Most recently, the newest delivery/take-out location in Paramus has opened on Forest Avenue, owned and operated by the Safai family of Oradell.

"We are a local family with children at and our nephew is helping us run the store," owner Bronwen Safai said. "We are employing nearly 20 people. Some of these people are students who really need the money, some have been unemployed for a long time, some have learning difficulties, some are recent immigrants."

Among the new employees is Pedro Gonzalez of North Bergen who was hired on as a shift manager.

"I had prior experience in retail management and they needed someone with leadership experience," Gonzalez said. "I'll learn everything the other employees will do so that I can help them do their job better."

According to Safai, the goal is to team up with the local PTA's for pizza discounts for school events as the delivery area will include not only the district but also the , and districts as well.

The franchise menu includes all of the favorites from the restaurant chain that focuses on its tagline of "Better Ingredients, Better Pizza" such as a Garden Fresh pizza and new Double Pepperoni, buffalo wings and breadsticks, apple pie (with and without cinnamon) and a variety of seasonings.

Open daily, the Paramus Papa John's, 440 Forest Avenue, can be reached by calling 201-262-8300 or visiting Papa John's online and placing an online order for delivery or pick-up. Delivery hours are 11am to 11pm while carry-out orders can be picked up from 11am to 10:40pm.
