Reader's Split on Best Deli in Town

The results are in and RiverDell could not decide where the is in town as Dante's and split the vote for the second tie in Reader's Choice River Dell history.

Each establishment specializes in something different - Dante's focuses on Italian cooking while has a variety from Italian to German, Irish and American cuisines. Both have been staples in their respective communities; Dante's  is on Kinderkamack Road in River Edge while is over in Oradell.

"The sandwiches are average," J P. of Oradell wrote on Yelp.com about Schreiber's. "There's not much "love" put into assembling any sandwich. If you're looking for a great sandwich, go down the road to Dante's. [Dante's] has killer sandwiches and great for catered Italian food. The large sandwiches are big enough to share. Try their sandwich specials menu, including the roast beef, horseradish sauce and arugula sandwich."

Terry N.. of Westwood called Schreiber's a "great deli for a sandwich and sides" while Stacey G.. of New Milford stated it has the "best potato salad.

New York native Alexis P.. showed off her Dante's sandwich to her co-workers once after following a recommendation to visit.

" I fell in love the second they handed me my sandwich and I could feel how substantial it was," she wrote on Yelp. "I've finally found my deli in NJ. You like more than three slices of deli meat on your sandwich?  Skip the chain sandwich shops and come to Dante's."

The two main deli's each received 26 votes, followed by with five,  had two and with one.
