River Dell Senior Day Ends In Big Win

Hawks shut out Dumont, 41-0

The River Dell Golden Hawks continued their gridiron domination on Friday night as they shut out the Dumont Huskies 41-0.

The 8-1 Hawks have already secured their bid in the North I Group II state tournament, that will kick off next week. So taking on the Huskies, was merely a matter of improving their standings and confirming their Big North Conference Patriot Division title.

Mike Purciello picked up the first touchdown for the Hawks on a 9-yard run and again on a 38-yard run. Spreading the ball around during the game, senior quarterback Brian McGooey handed off to John Sherlock (24-yard run), John Budka (20-yard run), Ryan Duran (5-yard run) and Tim Barnes (15-yard run) for the win. Kicker Dylan Smith was 5-for-6.
