Week Ahead: 7 Eleven Application Heads to Planning Board

River Dell Board of Ed will also meet this week

On Thursday, the River Edge Planning Board will begin by Ideal Properties LLC for a 7 Eleven at 584 Kinderkamack Road, just off of Van Buren Avenue and adjacent to the . The meeting begins at 8pm, Council Chambers in .

According to the 7 Eleven website, the franchise views northern New Jersey as one of its growth markets. It also looks for locations that can handle at least 1,800 square feet of selling space, a 24-hour operation or a location that can convert to a 24-hour operation, and an electrical standard 600 amp, 3-phase service.

The River Dell Board of Education will meet on Monday, 8pm at the Media Center to approve the tenure and non-tenure staff members for the coming school year. The River Edge Board of Education is meeting on Wednesday as well.

Friday skip over to East Drive in Oradell for the , sponsored by several fourth grade OPS parents. The fundraiser event will feature several local businesses, a silent auction and tricky tray to raise funds for the fifth grade Sharpe trip.

On Saturday and Sunday, the will present a limited two-performance run of The Laramie Project. The dramatic 90 minute production draws on the hundreds of interviews conducted by the Tectonic Theater Project following the highly-publicized 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the Tyler Clementi Foundation in Ridgewood. Tickets are $10 per person with showtimes at Saturday 2pm and Sunday 7pm.

Lift your spirit with a at , on Sunday, 1 to 5pm and imagine you are back in the days when country folk celebrated greening woodlands and flowering meadows with a dance around the Maypole and sporting contests. This year’s celebrate features country-dances in honor of the May Queen with Ridley and Anne Enslow on fiddle and hammered dulcimer from 1:15 to 2pm, Dutch donut coking from 2 to 3pm, and a Maypole dance at 3pm.

Games of the Week

Track

County groups are being held on Friday and Saturday up at Old Tappan and both the Hawks and Crusaders will be competing. Friday's events begin at 3:30pm and continue on Saturday at 9am.

Baseball

Bergen draws a pair of tough opponents with DePaul Catholic waiting in Wayne on Tuesday and then Demarest on Friday over at Overpeck County Park in Ridgefield Park. Both games start at 4pm.

River Dell looks to finish the regular season on a high note in their last three games: at New Milford on Monday, home against Bergen Tech on Tuesday and then away on Thursday at Paramus Catholic. All games start at 4:15pm.

Softball

The Lady Hawks will finish out their season at Ridgefield Park on Monday, 4:15pm.

Lacrosse

The Crusaders face Rumson-Fair Haven the in the final meet of the regular season on Wednesday, 6pm on the road.

Golf

Bergen is traveling back and forth across the state this week starting Monday at Forest Hills Country Club in the Non-Public North a State Tournament at 10am. The Crusaders face Caldwell on Tuesday, Mountain Ridge Country Club, 3:15pm; and Glen Rock on Thursday, High Mountain County Club, 3pm. BC also takes to Darlington County Park on Wednesday for the Luciano/Nassar County Championship at 7am.

The Hawks will also be on the road all week with Monday's 9am state sectionals at Rockleigh; at High Mountain, 4pm on Tuesday against Indian Hills; and then River Vale on Wednesday, 9am for the Nassar/Luciano County Tournament.

Tennis

The Crusaders wrap up the regular season on Wednesday at Montclair Kimberly Academy at 4:30pm two days after the start of the state tournament which pits Bergen, seeded fifth, against St. Peter's Prep, the fourth seed on Monday, 4pm. The winner will most likely face top-seeded Delbarton.
