Week Ahead: Meet Oradell's Candidate for Superintendent Spot

During Wednesday's Oradell Board of Education meeting, the public is invited to meet the final candidate for the Superintendent spot at 7:30pm in the Media Center. The candidate will share her background, experience and answer any questions the parents may have.

The River Edge Mayor and Council will convene at 7pm Monday for a work session followed by an 8pm regular meeting.

The Oradell Council is set to have a public hearing and vote to approve the 2012 municipal budget on Wednesday evening, 7pm. The meeting was pushed back from the usual Tuesday night to allow a full 28 days since introduction period.

Oradell Cadette Girl Scouts Victoria Scalanga and Olivia Schuster of Troop 995 are sponsoring the is open to all children grades K-6.  Multiple professionals will be on hand to discuss how to prevent sports injuries, the importance of good posture-backpack safety, skin care, signs and symptoms of concussions, fitness/martial arts, yoga for kids, mini facials, healthy nutrition, eye screening (with parent present), dental care, meet "Bones" the skeleton, see a 3-D brain! Many prizes, giveaways, activities and refreshments will be available.

State Tournament Schedules

River Dell baseball plays HOME on Monday, May 21 at 4 pm vs. Wallkill Valley in the first round of the NJSIAA State Sectionals for North 1 Group 2. Winner faces either #5 Kinnelon or #12 Ramsey on May 25.

Softball plays at Ramsey on Tuesday, May 22 at 4:15 pm in the first round of the NJSIAA State Sectionals for North 1 Group 2 action. If the Lady Hawks can upset the favored Lady Rams, they would  travel to either #9 Kinnelon or #8 Westwood on May 24.

Bergen Catholic baseball plays at Union Catholic on Friday, May 25 at 4pm in the first round of the NJSIAA State Sections Non Public North A bracket. The winner of this first round game would then play top seeded Seton Hall Prep in the quarterfinal round.
