Week Ahead: Schuber Highlights Forum on Privatizing Government Services
A quick look at what is coming up this week

The League of Women Voters of Bergen County and William “Pat” Schuber, former County Executive of Bergen County will hold a forum on privatizing government services on Tuesday, April 10, 1-3 p.m. at the . Schuber will suggest parameters and policy issues to consider upon the submission of a proposal to transfer governmental services, functions, or assets to the private sector. All levels of government will be reviewed.
The Oradell Mayor and Council is meeting on Tuesday, 7pm. Initially the governing body was expected to introduce their but it has been pushed back to the April 24 meeting.
River Edge is holding its first ever at the on Sunday, 1-3pm.

Bob Wills, of the Sunrise Trading Post, will share his knowledge of Lenape foods, herbs and customs, showing and selling traditional trade items representative of the Contact Period during Sunday's celebration of at New Bridge Landing, 1-4:30pm.

- Baseball draws a tough Emerson Cavos squad on Saturday, 12pm on the road. But to get there, they first have to take down Bergenfield on Monday, 4:15pm at the Bears' home field, Pascack Valley on Wednesday, 4:15pm in Indians territory and then defend their own on Friday from the Tenafly Tigers, 4:15pm.
- Softball has a long week with five games, the highlight of which is Tuesday when Glen Rock comes to town at 4:15pm. Other home games this week include Bergenfield (Monday) and Pascack Valley (Wednesday) at 4:15pm. The weekend will be spent on the road to Tenafly (Friday) at 4:15pm and then the Emerson Tournament on Saturday, 12pm against Old Tappan.
- It'll be an interesting week for boys LAX at Pascack Valley, 4:30pm on Monday and then in Hackensack for Bergen Tech, 4pm on Thursday. The Hawks return home on Saturday, 11am as Paramus comes to town.
- Girls LAX is away all week at 4:30pm to Lakeland on Tuesday and then Pascack Valley on Thursday.
- Golf drew heavy competitors with Paramus and Westwood on Monday (Paramus Golf Course), Glen Rock on Tuesday (Paramus Golf Course), Mahwah on Wednesday (Rockleigh Golf Course), and then Ramsey on Friday (Ramsey Golf Course). Tee-off is 4pm.
- Tennis is home the majority of the week facing Bergenfield (Monday 4:15pm), Fair Lawn (Thursday 12pm) and Tenafly (Friday 10am). River Dell is on the road to Pascack Valley on Tuesday, 4:15pm.
- Rival Ramsey comes to the track on Monday 4:15pm against River Dell. Boys and Girls will be running and throwing their way around the Comet Relays in Hackensack, 9am on Saturday.
Bergen Catholic
- Baseball heads down to Paterson for a 10am game against JF Kennedy on Monday; to Hackensack on Wednesday, 4pm and is home on Friday, 7pm under the lights against DePaul and home again Saturday, 10am against St. Peter's Prep.
- Tennis is also in Paterson on Monday, 4pm against JF Kennedy. Then spends the rest of the week at home over at IHA facing Hackensack Wednesday, 10am and then DePaul on Friday, 4pm.
- Track takes on DePaul at home on Monday, 4pm in the lone meet of the week.
- But the real action on Monday will be inside Bergen as the Crusaders take on rival Don Bosco in volleyball, 4pm. Tuesday the team follows the Garden State Parkway down to St. Joseph of Metuchen for a 10am match. Wednesday sends the team to JF Kennedy in Paterson, and then Hackensack on Friday, both at 10am. Head to Bergen on Saturday, 8am for a home quad meet.
- Golf takes the Turnpike down to South Jersey for the Galloway National Tournament, Tuesday at 10:30am. Then is in Franklin Lakes Wednesday, 3pm against St. Joseph Regional of Montvale at the High Mountain Country Club and following that draws Waldwick on Thursday at the Knickerbocker Country Club, Tenafly on Thursday, 3:45pm.
- LAX is in New York at 4pm Tuesday taking on Queensbury High School. Iona Prep comes to Oradell on Friday, 4pm.
