Week Ahead: Tax Assessor Returns Before Governing Body

After weeks of at every River Edge council meeting to talk about the , Tax Assessor James Anzevino will appear again before the governing body during Monday's meeting in hopes of . The meeting begins at 7pm in Council Chambers.

The annual takes off with registration at 8:30am on Saturday at . The one-mile Fun Run, sponsored by the River Edge Elementary Schools will start at 9am; The 5k Run Event will begin at 10am; and the Healthwalk (5k) is sponsored by the River Edge Alliance Against Drugs starts at 10:05am. This year, Steve Farrell's family along with members from the  boys lacrosse and wrestling teams along with the youth Blackhawks will participate in the

  • Track is home at the County Relays all weekend starting at 3:30pm on Friday and then 9am on Saturday.
  • It's another busy week for Baseball with home games on Monday against Ramsey and Friday against Indian Hills. They take to the road on Wednesday to Dwight Morrow and then to Overpeck Park on Saturday for Weehawken at 3pm. All other games start at 4:15pm.
  • Boys lacrosse faces Pascack Hills on Thursday, 4:15pm on the road in their lone match of the week.
  • Girls lacrosse on the other hand faces some stiff competition with Demarest on Monday and Bergen Tech on Thursday, both at home, 4:30pm. They head to Pascack Hills on Friday, 4:15pm.
  • Softball has their toughest week of the season playing five games with the majority on the road. The lone home game of the week is Tuesday when West Essex rolls in on Tuesday. Away games this week include Ramsey (Monday), Wayne Hills (Thursday) and Indian Hills (Friday), all at 4:15pm. They then drew Fair Lawn at Overpeck Park on Saturday, 3:15pm.
  • Golf has five matches this week (in order from Monday): Tenafly at Rockleigh, Old Tappan at Valley Brook, Pascack Valley at River Vale, Bergen Tech at Hackensack Country Club and Dwight Morrow at Overpeck. Each match starts at 4pm.
  • Tennis will need to be on their toes this week with daily matches against Ramsey (home), Cresskill (away), Dwight Morrow (away), Paramus (home), and Indian Hills (home). Start time is 4:15pm.

Bergen Catholic

  • Golf seeks another title, this time at the Blue Devil Invitational at Echo Lake Country Club on Monday, 3:30pm; and then at the FDU Golf Tournament at River Vale Country Club on Tuesday, 1:30pm. Wednesday will be spent at High Mountain Country Club, 3pm against J.F. Kennedy and then on Thursday at Knickerbocker Country Club, 3pm against Northern Highlands.
  • Baseball is on the road all week with St. Joseph Regional of Montvale on Monday and Paramus on Wednesday (both at 4pm) and then Old Tappan on Saturday, 1pm. 
  • Tennis also takes to the road with St. Joseph Regional of Montvale on Monday and Paramus on Wednesday, both at 4pm.
  • Volleyball starts the week visiting the Teaneck Highwayment at 4pm on Monday; returns home on Tuesday to face North Bergen and is on the road Wednesday to Lakeland and then finishes the week at home against Passaic. All matches start at 4pm.
  • Track is home on Tuesday, 4pm against St. Joseph Regional of Montvale and then heads to RiverDell on Friday, 4pm and Saturday 9am for the County Relays.
  • Lacrosse splits time this week with being home on Wednesday, 4pm against top-ranked Ridgewood and then heads to Montclair on Saturday, 11am.
