Week in Review: New Business Comes to Town, Crusader Heads to West Point

Twenty-six year entrepreneur Mark Van Buren is just one of the newest business owners in River Edge, having just opened Live Free Yoga at 888 Kinderkamack Road with a grand opening to come on April 28.
and high schools will be well represented this fall at the United States Service Academies. Bergen Catholic senior Connor Melde (West Milford) has committed to the Military Academy at West Point, and River Dell seniors Christopher Bascomb (Oradell) and Eric Almberg (River Edge) recently received congressional nominations to attend West Point and the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, respectively.
Along with receiving support from New Jersey and over 90 success stories to their credit, the River Edge-based Neighbors Helping Neighbors job seeker's group now has the full weight of Rutgers School of Law behind them. The state school will provide pro bono work to set NHN up as a non-profit organization.

Local are not the only ones in River Edge who are still reeling from the as one developer and a handful of residents try to decide what to do next.
Over 25 residents from across Bergen County, joined The League of Women Voters of Bergen County for a forum on privatizing government services at the Tuesday afternoon. With National Volunteer Week coming up from April 15 to 21, the sixth grade class at got a jump on the week-long event during their “Give Back” program, where the students participated in clean-ups, visited senior citizens, collected books, raised money for pediatric programs, supported the Center for Food Action and other civic minded projects.
