Police Report Counterfeit Money Used

Police nearby in Shrewsbury reported the following incidents recently:

• A theft was reported on Nov. 15 in the area of Shrewsbury Car Wash on Shrewsbury Avenue. The victim reported that belongings valued at $100 were taken by an unknown person or people. Patrolman MaryEllen Jennings is investigating.

• There was a report of a theft by deception incident on Nov. 21 in the area of Great Clips on Broad Street. The victim reported that someone used a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for merchandise and get cash back. Patrolman Ralph Latham is investigating.
