RFH Student vs. Faculty Volleyball Tournament in Support of Charley's Fund

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School students and faculty will raise money in the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) with volleyball.

The Student vs. Faculty Volleyball Tournament will be held in the RFH gym on Thursday. Student teams will play in elimination rounds beginning at 6 p.m. and faculty members will then take to the court to square off against student teams at 7 p.m.

An admission fee of $5 per person will be collected in support of Charley's Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for DMD. 

DMD is a muscle-wasting disease that affects one in every 3,600 newborn boys worldwide and leads to paralysis. The fund is named for Charley Seckler, a 13-year-old cousin of RFH junior Lucas Seckler and his brother Stanley, a 2013 RFH graduate. 

Charley's parents started the fund shortly after their son was diagnosed in 2004. This is the fourth year that RFH students and staff have taken to the volleyball court to offer their support.

The RFH Student vs. Faculty Volleyball Tournament is sponsored by the Seckler family of Rumson. It is being organized by the RFH Character Education Club with support from JoinAGame.com, a social network for planning pickup sporting events in Monmouth County.
