Rumson-Fair Haven Regional Coach Named NY Jets Coach Of The Week

RUMSON, NJ — Rumson-Fair Haven's football coach Jerry Schulte was named coach of the week by the New York Jets.

Schulte will get a $1000 prize and an automatic bid to compete in the 2022 New York Jets 11-ON Tournament.

He will also be invited to attend the New York Jets vs. New Orleans Saints game on Dec. 12. He will get luxury suite tickets and be recognized on-field at the MetLife Stadium.

Additionally, Rumson-Fair Haven will receive 100 tickets to the Jets Play Football 2022 preseason home game.

Coach Schulte attended Keansburg High School in New Jersey, where he played fullback in 1970. After college, he returned to the school as an assistant coach, before taking over as head coach at Mater Dei Prep High School in Middletown.

Later he was a coach at Wall High School and finally joined the Rumson-Fair Haven football program as the defensive coordinator in 2005. He was promoted to head coach in 2006.

Throughout his career, Schulte had over 100 wins.

The coach of the week award is given to a coach in the Tri-state area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to their community, their schools and their student athletes.
