Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot To Kick Off In Fair Haven

An "informal" Turkey Trot at Fair Haven Fields is on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

FAIR HAVEN, NJ — If it's Thanksgiving in Fair Haven, the annual Turkey Trot is also on the menu.

And not only can you get in a refreshing run or walk before the holiday meal, but those attending can donate new toys to Toys for Tots at the event.

The event is billed as an "informal" event, but there are some guidelines, according to a post on the borough's Facebook site:

Runners and walkers can gather at Fair Haven Fields near the flagpole on Nov. 24 - Thanksgiving Day - at 9:30 a.m., rain or shine, organizers say.

Kids, grownups, families, teams, runners/walkers can take loops on the gravel track around the park.

Categories include the Fastest Female and Fastest Male to complete three loops gets the trophy, in both the 18- and- under and adult categories.

There will be water, hot cocoa and snacks provided at no cost.

Also, those pushing strollers can join in, but should start from the back. Pets are welcome on a leash.
