9 Teams Signed Up So Far For March 16 Secaucus Basketball Tournament

Teams include Secaucus Police, Secaucus Fire, Natoli's and a Harmon Cove Towers squad. Teams from Rutherford and Union City will also play:

SECAUCUS, NJ — So far, nine teams have signed up to play in the four-on-four half-court basketball tournament that will be held March 16 at the Secaucus Rec Center.

Teams include Secaucus Police, Secaucus Fire Department, Natoli’s and a squad from Harmon Cove Towers. Teams from Rutherford and Union City are also signed up to compete, and other teams are waiting on company approval.

Secaucus Spectator, the free newsletter distributed in Harmon Cove Towers, is hosting the tournament; the tournament is a fundraiser for the Secaucus Food Pantry. Sponsors of the tournament are Silvana Paquet of State Farm Insurance, Agnes Bowman of Keller Williams Realty, Hudson Regional Hospital, McCormack Insurance, Haven Bank and Secaucus Rotary.

It is only half court and Spectator publisher Don Evanson is still taking team sign ups. Teams are made up of four players. All abilities welcome. It is $100 to register a team and $100 to be a sponsor. Contact donevanson@aol.com to sponsor or sign up.
