Arrest Made In July 7 Home Break-In Attempts In Secaucus

Suspects tried to break into two homes in Secaucus on July 7:

SECAUCUS, NJ — Two suspects tried to break into two homes in Secaucus on July 7, one on Koelle Blvd. and the other on Arn Terrace, said Secaucus Police Monday.

Both break-in attempts occurred shortly after 4 a.m. on July 7, said police.

No entry was gained in either incident. Police say they presume the suspects tried to break into the homes to steal cars.

One of the suspects, a 17-year-old from East Orange, was arrested last Tuesday, July 29. Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller did not say how they identified the teen as a suspect.

The second suspect remains at large.

The East Orange teen was charged with two counts of Criminal Attempt to commit Burglary [2C:5-1A(1)], two counts of Criminal Attempt to commit Motor Vehicle Theft [2C:5-1A(1)] and two counts of Conspiracy to commit Burglary [2C:5-2A(1)]. The juvenile was issued two juvenile complaints and remanded to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center.
