"Diarra From Detroit" Movie Filming At AJ's In Secaucus

SECAUCUS, NJ — A movie called "Diarra From Detroit" filmed in Secaucus this week.

The show filmed for two days only, Wednesday and Thursday, according to town Clerk Michael Marras, who approved their permit application to film in town.

They filmed at AJ's go-go bar and the surrounding area, he said.

The movie has filmed at locations throughout North Jersey, including at the Woodbridge Center Mall. The production company is AP Production Services, based in Carlstadt.

The biggest-name actor so far appears to be Morris Chestnut, who starred in the 1991 film "Boyz n the Hood," which also starred Cuba Gooding, Jr.

According to an online profile of the movie, it's about "Diarra Brickland, a public school teacher with an acerbic sense of humor, begins investigating a cold case after she matches on Tinder with a man she swears was a boy famously abducted in the 90s."
