SECAUCUS, NJ — El Asadero Mexican Grill in Secaucus (875 Rt. 3 east, next to the Hilton Garden Inn Secaucus) will have its grand open this Thursday.
El Asadero is a family-owned business founded by the Delgado brothers, Jose, Bonifacio, Marco, Jaime and Hector Delgado. They opened the first El Asadero in 2012 in Passaic and expanded from there, opening locations in Rochelle Park (2019), Fort Lee (2023) and now their Secaucus location on Rt. 3.
They are kicking off their first day of business in a big way: The restaurant will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Mike Gonnelli and members of the Delgado family at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. That will be followed by a private, invite-only grand opening party that includes a cowboy show and horse-drawn carriage rides, Mariachi musicians and Azteca dancers throughout the night, plus a DJ and dancing until 10 p.m.

El Asadero means “the grill” or "rotisserie" in Spanish and they serve Mexican food that revolves around open flame and live-fire cooking. They call themselves a Mexican steakhouse.
"At El Asadero, everything starts with the grill — from the sizzling Tomahawk ribeye to the signature Asadero Molcajete, a bubbling volcanic stone bowl overflowing with steak, grilled ribs, shrimp, cheese and vegetables. The smoke, the char, the sear — it’s not just a cooking method, it’s a performance. Chef-driven dishes are prepared with high-quality meats, house marinades, and fire-grilled precision. Every element is touched by fire — infusing the menu with soul, smoke and celebration," said the restaurant.
