Volunteer Opportunity For Secaucus Kids: Toiletry Bags For Homeless

On Dec. 22, kids, teens and families will meet at the Harmon Cove clubhouse to assemble toiletry bags, to give out to the homeless.

SECAUCUS, NJ — On Dec. 22, kids, teens and families will meet at the Harmon Cove clubhouse to fill and assemble toiletry bags, which will be given out to the homeless in our area.

It's called the Kids Blessing Bag project and it was created by Secaucus resident Brenda Green, who is also a fitness instructor and health coach (Fit 4 A Better Me).

Every December, for the past eight years, Green and other volunteers fill purple bags with toiletries, such as toothpaste and deodorant, food and winter hats/gloves, to distribute to the homeless and local shelters.

"We’re thrilled to share that Santa will be joining us to bring extra joy to the kids," said Green this week. "This year, we’re partnering with shelters in Bergen, Hudson, Essex and just confirmed Passaic County."
