Harrison Man Robbed Victim At Gunpoint In Online Marketplace Sale

WEEHAWKEN, NJ — A Harrison man robbed and assaulted another man at gunpoint in Weehawken after the two men met through an online selling platform, and agreed to meet to sell an electronic device.

This happened in Weehawken in 2022. The Harrison man, Mouhamed Ba, 31, was just found guilty by a Hudson County jury last Friday, Nov. 22.

Ba was found guilty of first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping, third-degree aggravated assault and weapons offenses, said Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez. He was convicted after a week-long trial.

Ba arranged to purchase an electronic device from the victim through an online selling platform. The two men met at an agreed-upon location in Weehawken on January 29, 2022, where Ba robbed and assaulted the victim at gunpoint.

He is facing 10 to 40 years in New Jersey state prison at sentencing, which is tentatively scheduled for January 10, 2025.
