Home Under Construction On Meadow Lane Not A Mosque, Is Single-Family Home

SECAUCUS, NJ — On Thursday, we reported that a mosque is indeed coming to Secaucus, and will be located at 805 Cedar Avenue, directly across from town hall.

It is unknown when the mosque will open. Also, it remains unknown if the home that is there currently will be knocked down and a new building constructed.

This private home, above, under construction on Meadow Lane is not a mosque, despite much speculation from the public that it is. The home is a single-family private home, said town administrator Gary Jeffas.

It pays standard property taxes, he said.

That area is zoned residential, so a mosque or house of worship would not likely be permitted there anyway, said Jeffas.
