How Many Inches Of Snow Will Secaucus Get, And When?

The expected snow accumulation has increased for Hudson County, and the Jersey Shore is now under a blizzard warning.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Do not park on roads designated snow emergency routes. You will see the signs.

Any resident on an emergency route can park their cars in the North End municipal lot on Paterson Plank Road (across the street from Plank Road Inn), the municipal lot on Centre Avenue or the Recreation Center parking lot, said Mayor Mike Gonnelli.

According to the National Weather Service forecast for Hudson County:

  • 5-11 inches may fall from 10 p.m. Friday night to 4 p.m. Saturday.
  • To break it down, there's an 80 percent chance of snow after 10 p.m. Friday, with accumulations of 1-3 inches — then another 4-8 may fall before 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 28.

Friday Night: Snow, mainly after 10 p.m. Low around 17. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. North wind 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow
accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Saturday: Snow, mainly before 4 p.m. High near 24. Wind chill values between zero and 5. Windy, with a north wind 22 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 13. Wind chill values between zero and 5. Blustery, with a northwest wind 18 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 28. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph.

Secure Loose Objects

Residents should secure all loose objects outside or bring them inside, especially on balconies.

Outdoor tents should be taken down depending on the wind load.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, resulting in power outages.
