Join Secaucus Cub Scouts: Friendship, Learn New Skills, Build Confidence
Cub Scouts meet at 4 p.m. every Thursday in the Immaculate Conception Church basement. Once your son is in 2nd grade, parents can drop off.
SECAUCUS, NJ — Secaucus Cub Scout Pack #87 meets every Thursday, from 4-5 p.m.
The pack meets in the basement of Immaculate Conception Church. Enter through the back door in the back parking lot. Once your son is in 2nd grade, parents can drop off for the hour.
The pack is run by Mrs. Helen Allen and her helpers. Cub Scout membership is open to boys in kindergarten up to fifth grade. The pack meets once a week on Thursdays and does many fun activities. As part of Cub Scouts, your boy will have the opportunity to:

- Tour the Secaucus Police station
- Meet a working Secaucus Police canine

- Build his own model race car and race it against other boys in the pack in a Pinewood Derby race. If he places in the top three, he can compete regionally in a North Jersey Pinewood Derby.
- Learn his own magic trick and perform in a magic show
- Go mining and tour a mineral museum
- Build his self esteem
- Learn science experiments and participate in a "Mad Scientist" Night
- Learn how to fish
- Learned about boating and water safety from the U.S. Coast Guard and tour the U.S. Coast Guard boat docked in Secaucus
- Camp in the woods, learn how to set his own tent and (safely) start and put out a fire in the woods.
- Win medals and trophies
- Go on hikes with the pack and learn proper footwear, carry his own pack and learn wilderness safety.
- While hiking, Secaucus Cub Scouts have seen snakes, foxes, hawks and deer.
- Get a personalized tour of the Secaucus water treatment plant and learn how water treatment works.
- Tour the Thomas Edison Museum
- Learn patriotism and how to properly raise and salute the American flag
- Learn civic involvement and how to help and serve others.
- Form lifelong friendships with other boys and meet nice families in Secaucus!
