Mamma Franca In Secaucus Is Closing

SECAUCUS, NJ — Secaucus Italian restaurant Mamma Franca is closing.

Their last day of business will be this Saturday, said owner Luigi Forte.

This was the Italian restaurant located inside the Harmony Suites hotel, next to the Meadowlands Expo Center. It only opened last June. Forte, who is from Italy, served made-from-scratch Italian food, using many of his mother's own homemade recipes.

Not everyone was aware of his location inside the hotel, and also hotel business and foot traffic has still not returned to pre-pandemic levels.

Forte said he will still be available for private events; people can use the space and rent the restaurant for parties, weddings, etc. It is a very beautiful space and people have hosted birthday parties there in the past.

But they will no longer serve daily dinner service.
