March Events At The Secaucus Library

On March 21, kids 7 and up are invited to Build a Birdhouse workshop, and there's a Bird House Build-a-Thon for all ages all day March 22.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Here's everything the library has planned in March:

12 p.m. Saturday, March 8 "Forest Echoes: Feminist Retellings of Indian Mythology" Panasonic meeting room of the main library

Join Usha Venkatraman as she takes us to ancient India with stories of how three courageous women challenged tradition against the prevailing social backdrop. Venkatraman is an award-winning storyteller, TEDx speaker, educationist, author, classical vocalist, puppeteer and radio show host. She recently donned the role of a social impact creator at the United Nations Women 2024, 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women from India. Her stories are an intersection of Indian myths, folklore, feminism and music. She loves to bring different voices together, weaving threads of untold stories of women heroes stitching together forgotten folklore, fragments of myth, songs and music. She has done storytelling at national and international festivals, events and conferences in India and abroad.
