Mayim Bialik, Dustin Hoffman Filmed In Lyndhurst and Rutherford
Mayim Bialik, Candice Bergen and Dustin Hoffman filmed "As Sick as They Made Us" in many towns near Secaucus this spring.
SECAUCUS, NJ — Not only was actress Mayim Bialik ("The Big Bang Theory") spotted filming in Lyndhurst and Rutherford this past spring, but she brought big names like Candice Bergen and Dustin Hoffman with her, as well.
All of them were in the North Jersey area filming for the upcoming dramatic feature "As Sick as They Made Us," the screenwriting and directorial debut of Bialik.
The movie was filmed on locations right next door to Secaucus: The movie shot this past spring in Rutherford, Lyndhurst, Belleville, Clifton and Elmwood Park.

"As Sick As They Made Us" is the story of a divorced mom trying to make peace with her dysfunctional family as she gets a second chance at love. Now she must attempt to convince her stubborn and comically unfortunate family members to hold it together while they embrace one final farewell.
It is written by Bialik and is based on her own life.

It also stars Charlie Weber, Simon Helber and Dianna Agron, of "Glee."
Motion picture and television production in North Jersey has increased dramatically since the Garden State Film and Digital Media Jobs Act took effect in 2018.
New Jersey’s Film Tax Credit Program offers eligible production companies a 30-35%
transferable tax credit on qualified film production expenses, plus an additional 2% diversity
bonus for qualified productions. It has attracted dozens of motion pictures and television series
to film in New Jersey since it became available in July of 2018.
Other major motion pictures filmed in New Jersey recently include David Chase’s highly anticipated Sopranos prequel "The Many Saints of Newark," (filmed in Newark, Paterson and Bloomfield), Halle Berry’s sports drama "Bruised," (filmed in Atlantic City) and Steven Spielberg’s upcoming remake of "West Side Story," (filmed in Paterson, Newark and New York City) all scheduled to be released later this year.
