Men Found With Heroin, Cocaine In Area Of Wood Avenue: Police
Two men were arrested Saturday night after Secaucus Police said they were found with cocaine, and one with heroin, near Wood Avenue.
SECAUCUS, NJ — Two men were arrested Saturday night after Secaucus Police said they were found with cocaine, and one with heroin, in the area of Wood Avenue (where the Meadowlands Plaza hotel is located; where the new Secaucus marijuana dispensary will be located).
The Secaucus Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit was patrolling that area when, at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, detectives observed Richard Salerno sitting in the driver’s seat of his car. When police approached the car, they located Martin Rocchio, the passenger, who appeared to be holding drug paraphernalia in his hand.
Rocchio was placed under arrest. He was searched and was found in possession of over three ounces of suspected cocaine, Xanax and approximately three grams of suspected heroin. Detectives then searched the car and seized additional drug paraphernalia.

Salerno was found in possession of cocaine and Xanax and was also placed under arrest.
Rocchio, 51, of Bronx, NY is charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine [2C:355b(2)], Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin [2C:35-5b(3)], Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 500 feet of a Public Park [2C:35-7.1], three counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1)] and Possession of Drug Paraphenalia [2C:36-2]. He was lodged in the Hudson County Jail.

Salerno, 46, of West Harrison, NY was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1)] and released pending his appearance in court.
“I am proud of the hard work our Anti-Crime Unit puts forth each day in combating vice crimes near our area hotels," said Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller. “These committed detectives have my full support and I commend their dedication.”
