SECAUCUS, NJ — An NJ Transit bus caught fire and became engulfed in flames early Thursday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike in Secaucus.
The bus caught fire at 6:12 a.m. near the approach to exit 15X, said an NJ Transit spokesperson.
The bus had departed Plainfield at 5:06 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. It experienced a tire blowout, resulting in a fire.

It was local Secaucus firefighters who put out the fire, said NJ Transit.
There were 49 passengers on the bus, and the driver, and all were safely evacuated. There were no injuries.
