Patriot Boys Cross Country have impressive outing
Team places 7th in Senior Division of Magee Class Invitational and 21st overall in a 60 team field
The Secaucus High School Cross Country team attended the NJCTC / Bernie Magee Class Inviational at Greystone Park in Morris Plains this past Saturday. In the boys senior division, the Patriots placed 7th in a highly cometitive field of 298 runners. Overall, they were 21st in the 60 school field merged scoring.
Leading the way was co-captain Dominic Vargas with his time of 17:48.3 for the 5k race. He was immediately followed by co-captain Kyrolos Awad who crossed the finish at 17:49.7. Josh Torres was next in for the Patriots at 18:12 Max Donaldson George (18:17.8) and Yash Sachanandani (18:38.4) rounded out the top five scorers for Secaucus. Co-captain Yonden Sherpa (19:40.9) and Kush B. Patel (20:39.7) were the #6 and #7 displace runners for the team.
"This was an important turning point of the season for us," said coach Stan Fryczynski, "We turned in performances that mean we can be certainly be in the hunt for all of the remaining meets on our schedule. It could prove to be an exciting season if we can remain focused"

In the Sophomore Boys Division, Secaucus has two solid outings by Matt Dalton (20:58.4) and Pratham Mulani21:05.5). Jasmine Tsang (24.57.4) and Elaine Zhang (25:50.8) represented the Patriots in the Senior Girls Division.
Secaucus Cross Country travel to VanCortlandt Park, in the Bronx, New York this Friday to participate in the Fordham Prep Development series.
