The Quik Drugs opened in 2020 by Raj Patel, and it was operated by his wife, Parul Patel, a licensed pharmacist. Patel is another Secaucus landowner: He owns the Harmony Suites hotel and Candlewood Suites hotel, both in Secaucus. He is also the co-owner of the former taekwondo building where the new Indian grocery store opened in December. The former taekwondo building is owned by J&A Managing Estates LLC, which Patel co-owns with another company.
When they first opened Quik Drugs, the Patels told Patch they decided to open a small community pharmacy, especially to target the areas of Harmon Cove, Osprey Court and Riverside, all of which are in walking distance. However, they have since left ownership of the pharmacy and it has gone through two new owners since then. Its most recent owner decided this winter to permanently close the pharmacy.
