Reminder: Secaucus School Board Forum 7 P.M. Thursday At High School

Questions will be asked by Don Evanson, who publishes the Secaucus Spectator, a free newsletter distributed every month in Harmon Cove.

SECAUCUS, NJ — The Secaucus school board candidates' forum is a go for Thursday night!

It will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 in the Arthur Couch Performing Arts Center at Secaucus High School.

The forum will be moderated by Don Evanson, who publishes the Secaucus Spectator, a free newsletter distributed every month in Harmon Cove towers/townhouses. Evanson organized the forum.

The forum is being billed as a chance for the public to "meet the school board candidates."

All seven candidates are confirmed to attend, said Evanson.

Seven people are running; voters are asked to choose three:

  • Melissa Howard - "Advocate for Education." Currently on the Board, seeks re-election.
  • Audry Yule - "Community Winning Resolutions"
  • Valerie Giraldo - "Community Winning Resolutions"
  • Tatiana Geller - "Excellence in Education"
  • Gerald Lyons - "Excellence in Education"
  • Jamie Fisher - "The People's Voice"
  • Monica Berckes - "A Winning District"

The election will be Nov. 5, but early voting starts this Saturday. Vote early Oct. 23 - Nov. 3 at the Secaucus Rec Center, open seven days a week for early voting. Hours will be Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
