Secaucus High School Boys Cross County Place 3rd in Hudson County
Dominic Vargas and Kyrolos Awad lead Patriots to Team Bronze Medals

On Saturday, October 25th, the Hudson County Cross Country Championship Meet was held at Stephen Gregg Park in Bayonne. In a highly competitive race, the Secaucus High School varsity boys squad finished in 3rd place and earned team bronze medals. There were 90 runners in the field.
Dom Vargas continued at the Patriots lead runner, as he has been all season, by placing in 11th with an excellent time of 17:13. From there, Secaucus brought in their trademark pack of Kyrolos Awad (17:35 / 19th), Josh Torres (17:54 / 22nd), Max Donaldson-George (18:00 / 24th) and Yash Sachanandani (18:01 / 25th). Yonden Sherpa placed 44th in 19:08 and sophomore Pratham Mulani ran a personal best 5k time of 19:14.
"Without question our squad was running on all cylinders," exclaimed Head Coach Stan Fryczynski. "Everyone had a fantastic day. They all raced with such determination and we could see it their eyes from start to finish. I couldn't have been prouder of them. We certainly ran with the big dogs in this championship"

Secaucus travels to Greystone Park in Morris Plains this Saturday for the NJSIAA State Sectional Championship. They enter the meet with their sights on qualifying for the State Group Championships for 14th time in the last 16 years.
