Secaucus Homeowners: County Will Treat Trees For Spotted Lanternfly
If there is any tree of heaven (TOH) on your property, it will be treated by the county with an insecticide.
SECAUCUS, NJ — The Hudson Regional Health Commission has received a small grant from the NJ Department of Agriculture to assist with control of the spotted lanternfly, an invasive insect that is seen all over Secaucus.
The Hudson Regional Health Commission is now accepting service requests from the public.
If there is any tree of heaven (TOH) on your property, it will be treated with an insecticide. This treatment lasts several months. If there is a large population of spotted lanternflies on other infested trees, they may apply a different insecticide.

They only use pesticides recommended by the NJ Department of Agriculture. A tree of life on your property will be treated with Transtect 70, which penetrates the tree and kills SLF as they feed. Bifen I/T is being used as a contact insecticide to kill SLF directly. On public property, TOH is being killed with Garlon 4 Ultra. Similar products may be substituted as necessary.
