Secaucus HS Boys Cross Country place 3rd in North 2 Group I State Sectional Championship

Bronze medal effort qualifies the Patriots for the State Group 1 Championship Meet

It was another successful outing for the Secaucus High School Boys Cross Country team. The Patriots claimed team bronze medals with their 3rd place finish at the North 2 Group I State Sectional Championship. The meet was held at Greystone Park 5k course in Morrins Plains, N.J. For their efforts, Secaucus has now qualifies for the State Group I championship meet next Saturday at Holmdel Park. It was the 50th time that a boys or girls team has qualified for the state championship meet.

Dominic Vargas took an individual bronze medal with his 9th place finish in 17:34.7. Then, the Patriot "Pack" came in as thay have all season - Josh Torres 15th (18:03.5), Kryolos Awad 16th (18:09.9), Yash Schanandani 18th (18:14.9),and Max Donaldson-George 24th (18:30.8). Sophomore Pratham Mulani was 34th (19:15.8) and Yonden Sherpa placed 44th (19:41.5).

There were 106 runners in the race and 15 teams.
