Secaucus HS Cross County earns Conference and County Honors

Boys team completes one of the most successful seasons in program history

Eight Secaucus HS cross country athletes and their coach have been awarded post season honors at the conference and county levels. The 2025 season marked one of the most successful in the history of the high school boys’ cross-country team. The Patriots won the NJIC Meadowlands division, they were undefeated (8-0) in dual meets, placed 3rd in the County and 3rd in the North 2 Group 1 State Sectional. The squad were also team medalists at 5 other large invitational meets – 3rd at CHSAA Invitational, 3rd in the Back to the Mountain Invitational, 2nd in North Hudson, 2nd in the XC Fall Classic, and 1st in the Fordham Prep development meet.

Dominic Vargas, the top runner for the boys’ team all season, earned 1st Team All-Division NJIC and 2ndTeam All County. Teammate Kyrolos Awad was selected 1st Team All-Division NJIC and 3rd Team All-County.

Josh Torres was another 1st Team All-Division NJIC selection for the Patriots and he added Honorable Mention All-County to his resume. Maxwell Donaldson-George and

Yash Sachanandani each earned 2nd Team All-Division NJIC and Honorable Mention All-County. Yonden Sherpa was selected 2nd Team All-Division NJIC.

Coach Stan Fryczynski was selected “Coach of the Year “in the NJIC Meadowlands Division. Fryczynski was also honored by the Hudson County Track Coaches Association as the Boys 2025 County “Co-Coach” of the year.

For the Lady Patriots, Jasmine Tsang garnered 1st team All-Division NJIC and Honorable Mention All-County. Teammate Elaine Zhang was 2nd Team All-Division NJIC.
