Secaucus HS Varsity boys cross country take team silver at "Fall Classic"

Dom Vargas and Kyrolos Awad lead Patriots with their 7th and 8th place individual finishes

The Secaucus High School varsity boys cross country team took team silver at the Annual Fall Classic in Thompson Park in Jamesburg. For the fifth time this season, the Patriots have earned team medals in major meets attended.

It was Dom Vargas leading Secaucus with a stellar performance as he placed 7th individually in a time of 17:35.1 over the 5k course. Quickly behind was Kyrolos Awad in 8th at 17:40.4. Both runners have been providing the Patriots with a strong 1-2 punch all season.

Max Donaldson-George was 18th in 18:39.5, Yash Sachanandani took 31st in 19:08.3, and Yonden Sherpa was 37th in 19:42.7 to complete the 5 man scoring for Secaucus. Andrei Delos Santos 43rd/19:19.9 and Kush B Patel 41st/20:48 were the displace runners for the Patriots.

Also having a good day was sophomore Pratham Mulani. He took a 34th place bronze in the JV boys race with a 19:43.9.

Next meet on the calendar for the Patriots is the Annual North Hudson Championships at Hudson County Park in Bayonne on Friday, October 17th.
