Secaucus Man Twice Tried To Return Fake Apple Airpods: Police

Police say he tried to make the fraudulent return on two different days last week, and Best Buy employees called police the second time:

SECAUCUS, NJ — A man who lives in Secaucus is accused of trying to twice return fake Apple products to the Secaucus Best Buy, police said Monday.

The man arrested is Lingbin Jiang, 32, of Secaucus. He is charged with two counts of Theft by Deception [2C:20-4A] and two counts of Criminal Simulation [2C:21-2].

Police say Jiang first tried to return a pair of airpods to the Secaucus Best Buy last Monday, Nov. 18; he told store employees they were Apple airpods, but store employees denied his return.

He returned a day later, Nov. 19, and attempted to make the same fraudulent return. That was when Best Buy employees called Secaucus Police, and Jiang was arrested inside the store at 3:04 p.m. last Tuesday.
