Secaucus Police Blotter, Dec. 2 - Dec. 8

A man is now arrested and charged with breaking into cars at the Extended Stay hotel on Meadowlands Parkway last Thanksgiving day, 2023:

SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police, all of last week's arrests:

On Nov. 22 a 35-year-old male, Barakaa Welton of Newark, was processed at the Essex County Jail on six counts of Burglary [2C:18-2a(1)], four counts of Theft [2C:20-3a] and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary [2C:5-2a(1)]. The charges stem from the burglary into and theft from numerous vehicles parked at the Extended Stay, 1 Meadowlands Parkway on Nov. 28.

On Dec. 2 at 1:07 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Walmart on a report of a shoplifting. Police arrested a 27-year-old male of New York, NY along with a 29-year-old male of New York, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5-2A(2)]. Both were issued their complaint summonses and were released from police custody.

On Dec. 3 at 6:50 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Essex County Jail to take into custody a 52-year-old male of East Orange, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant that was issued out of Secaucus, NJ with no bail. The warrant was issued for the charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle [2C:20-10.1A], Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)] and Theft [2C:20-3A] in relation to an incident of motor vehicle theft that occurred in Secaucus, NJ on 12/07/2023. The outstanding warrant was recalled and Mr. Price was subsequently released from police custody.

On Dec. 5 at 11:55 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Hudson County Superior Court to take into custody a 35-year-old female of Bayonne, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $600.00. She was unable to post bail for the involved warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On Dec. 7 at 1:55 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Kohl’s for a report of a shoplifting. Police arrested a 49-year-old male Dwayne Whaley of Kearny, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Broward County, Florida with no bail. He was subsequently charged with being a Fugitive from Justice [2A:160-10]. Mr. Whaley was also charged with Possession of CDS believed to be Crack Cocaine [2C:35-10A(1)] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Mr. Whaley was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On Dec. 8 at 12:03 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 28-year-old male of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Hoboken, NJ in the amount of $3,500.00 with a 10% option. He was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 3 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
