Secaucus Police Blotter, Sept. 8 - Sept. 14

A woman wanted on warrants from multiple other states was arrested at the Secaucus Best Buy Saturday:

SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police, all of last week's arrests:

On Sept. 8 at 2:22 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 42-year-old man of the Bronx, NY for Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] by providing false information to the police. He was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On Sept. 8 at 11:06 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 41-year-old man of Landisville, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of East Rutherford, NJ with no bail. Officers from the East Rutherford Police Department responded to Secaucus Police headquarters and took custody of him for transport back to their authority.

On Sept. 9 at 9:19 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to 100 Plaza Drive on a report of a man who was acting disorderly. During the investigation, the police arrested a 30-year-old man of New York, NY for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Kearny, NJ with no bail along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $1,000 with a 10% option. He was also charged with Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] by providing false information to the police. He was issued his complaint warrant and was transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On Sept. 9 at 1:28 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Kohl’s for a report of a shoplifting. Police arrested a 63-year-old man of Jersey City, NJ along with a 54-year-old man of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)] and Conspiracy to commit Shoplifting [2C:5 2A(1)]. One was additionally charged with Possession of Burglar Tools [2C:5-5A(1)]. Both were issued complaint warrants and transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On Sept. 9 at 6:16 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop Secaucus Police arrested a 24-year-old woman of Newark, NJ for 2 outstanding warrants issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $1,100. Newark PD released her on her own recognizance pending future court dates in relation to the 2 outstanding warrants. She was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.

On Sept. 9 at 7:45 p.m., officers from the East Rutherford Police Department responded to Secaucus Police headquarters to take into custody a 27-year-old man of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $600 along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $200. He was able to post bail for the warrant issued in the amount of $600. He was released on his own recognizance pending a future court date in relation to the warrant issued in the amount of $200 and was released from police custody.

On Sept. 9 at 11:04 p.m., officers responded to the Harrison Police Department to take into custody a 40-year-old man of Jersey City, NJ for 2 outstanding warrants issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $2,000 along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $1,000 with a 10 % option and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Union City, NJ in the amount of $750. He was unable to post bail for the involved warrants and was transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On Sept. 11 at 7:35 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 39-year-old man of Secaucus, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. He was issued a motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional 2 motor vehicle summonses and was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On Sept. 12 at 8:22 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 43-year-old man of Secaucus, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Fair Lawn, NJ in the amount of $650. He was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.

On Sept. 13 at 3:55 pm., Secaucus Police responded to Best Buy for a report of possible identity theft. During the investigation, the police arrested a 37-year-old female, Virmary Baez of New York, NY for 4 counts of Identity Theft [2C:21-17A(1)], 4 counts of Possession of False Government Documents [2C:21-1.1C], 4 counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card [2C:21-6H], 3 counts of Theft by Deception [2C:20-4], Criminal Attempt to commit Theft by Deception [2C:5-1A(1)], Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police and Possession of CDS believed to be Oxycodone [2C:35-10A(1)]. Baez was also found to have 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office with no bail, 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Middlesex County with no bail, 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Marple Township Police Department in Pennsylvania with no bail, 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Rhode Island with no bail and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office with no bail. Baez was also charged with Being a Fugitive from Justice [2A:160-10] for the outstanding warrant issued out of Pennsylvania and Being a Fugitive from Justice [2A:160-10] for the outstanding warrant issued out of Rhode Island. Baez was issued her complaint warrants and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
