The Secaucus VFW helps veterans of foreign wars, said Phil Papas, who has been a member of the organization for decades now, and is also the commander of Secaucus VFW Post 3776. He himself is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served with the United States Army in 1970 and 1971.
"We help all veterans in need," said Papas. "We visit veterans who are in the hospital; we recently celebrated a birthday for a veteran who turned 100. We work with Councilman Bill McKeever to help veterans. We provided food for veterans for in need and most recently worked with the Rotary Club to provide newborn baby supplies for a woman veteran in need."
