These Secaucus Restaurants Donate A Portion Of Sales To Kids In Need

From Oct. 21 - Oct. 27, say "Rotary Giveback" when you place an order from the following restaurants, and they will donate part of the sale:

SECAUCUS, NJ — From Oct. 21 - Oct. 27, Secaucus Rotary will hold its first-ever Secaucus Eats Restaurant Week.

Secaucus Rotary Club partnered with the following restaurants in Hudson County. If you eat there this week, or order take-out, just say "Rotary Giveback" when you place your order, and the restaurant will donate a portion of its sales from that meal (15-25 percent) to children in need.

The participating restaurants are:

  • Secaucus Shake Shack, 700 Plaza Drive (Shake Shack is only doing this for one day, Wednesday, Oct. 23, and customers need to say "Donation Day" or use the "DonateChicken" promocode on the ShackApp or kiosk in store.)
  • Tadka, 1297 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus
  • Outback Steakhouse Secaucus, 455 Harmon Meadow Blvd.
  • Curry On, 765 Newark Avenue in Journal Square, Jersey City
  • Grove Station, 116 Newark Avenue, in Journal Square, Jersey City

Say "Rotary Giveback" when you place your order there now through Oct. 27, or when you order take-out.

Secaucus Rotary will use the money to purchase duffel bags for children in crisis being removed from unsafe homes. These bags will support children entering foster care or seeking shelter from homelessness or domestic violence.

"Currently, children use trash bags to carry their belongings, which can make them feel discarded and unloved during this highly dehumanizing and vulnerable moment," said Secaucus Rotary Club president Keely Respass. "We want these incredibly brave children to feel cherished and supported during this challenging time."

Secaucus Rotary is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. All donations to the Secaucus Rotary Club Foundation are tax deductible.

The donated bags will be filled with essential items such as:

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Hairbrush and comb
  • Body wash
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Washcloth
  • Lotion
  • Socks and underwear
  • Pajamas
  • A book or toy/stuffed animal for younger children

Additionally, Secaucus Rotary is also raising money to create scholarships for a young person aging out of the foster care system.
