Uber Eats Deliverywoman Assaults Police Officer With Bike Lock In Secaucus: Police
Police initially tried to stop the woman after she threatened an Osprey Cove resident, who she was delivering food to.
SECAUCUS, NJ — A woman delivering Uber Eats on a bicycle refused to stop for police last week, and hit a police officer in the head with a bike lock, Secaucus Police said Tuesday.
This was at 4:14 p.m. last Wednesday, Sept. 24. Police initially tried to stop the woman after she got into an argument with a resident of the Osprey Cove apartments on Meadowlands Parkway. The woman, a 23-year-old Bronx resident, was delivering Uber Eats food on a bike, and she and the customer she was delivering to got into an argument over confirming receipt of the food on the app, said police.
She threatened the customer, said police, and the customer called 911.

The woman left the area prior to police arrival and was located by police in the area of 9th Street and Flanagan Way. Police say the woman, while still riding her bike, failed to stop for police despite numerous instructions to do so, and she then ran into the TD Bank on Paterson Plank Road to elude police further. The woman also struck the pursuing police officer in the head with a bike lock, said police.
Jahil Rust was taken into police custody and charged with: Aggravated Assault against a Law Enforcement Officer [2C:12-1B(1)], Obstructing the Administration of Law [2C:29-1A], Resisting Arrest by Flight [2C:29-2A(2)], Resisting Arrest by Force [2C:29-2A(3)], Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7A], Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)], 2 counts of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose [2C:39-4D], 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5D], Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon [2C:12-1B(2)], Terroristic Threats [2C:12-3A] and Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)]. She was taken to the Hudson County Jail.
