U.S. Senate

South Jersey Congressman Andy Kim, Democrat, is running against Republican hotel entrepreneur Curtis Bashaw for New Jersey's U.S. Senate seat vacated by Bob Menendez after he was convicted in July for accepting bribes of gold bars and cash from three New Jersey businessmen, and acting as a foreign agent for the Egyptian government.

Who wants to represent Secaucus in the House of Representatives:

Republican Billy Prempeh and Democrat Nellie Pou are running for the Congress seat that was long held by Congressman Bill Pascrell, until he died this August at the age of 87.

Pascrell, a Democrat, had represented Secaucus, part of NJ's 9th Congressional District, since 1997. He would sometimes come to Secaucus for press conferences with Mike Gonnelli regarding federal funding he had obtained for Secaucus.

Democrat Pou is a Hispanic woman and a state Senator who represents Passaic County. Prempeh is a U.S. Air Force veteran, a supporter of President Donald Trump and his parents are from Ghana. Prempeh ran for the NJ 9 Congress seat twice before (2020 and 2022), without success.
