The Waterton In Secaucus Is Now Renting: Take A Peek Inside

Rents at The Waterton, at the end of Paterson Plank Road by Trolley Park, range from starting in the $3,000s to $5,000 a month.

SECAUCUS, NJ — The Waterton, the apartment complex at the end of Paterson Plank Road (1631 Paterson Plank Road) opened in late March and is now renting.

The Waterton has 116 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. This is the luxury apartment complex built on the site of what used to be a concrete plant.

And luxury is right: Rents at the Waterton range from starting in the $3,000s to $5,000 a month. These prices are a good indicator of how aggressive the Secaucus real estate market has gotten, for both private home sales and apartment rentals.

People are indeed paying those rents: The Waterton is already more than 50 percent leased in the first two months it opened, said one of its developers, Woodmont Properties. The Waterton was built in a partnership with Woodmont, Canoe Book Development and PIRHL.

The apartment building "is directly across the river from American Dream mall and has an expansive suite of amenities, tranquil neighborhood surroundings, spectacular water views (of the Hackensack River) and optimal access to public transit, enabling a quick commute to NYC," says the developer.

"The Waterton is within walking distance to downtown Secaucus, which features a host of restaurant and retail options and provides residents with convenient access to New York City, which is less than 15 minutes by train," said the developer.

“Secaucus continues to be a desirable place to live and we are excited to officially welcome The Waterton to our dynamic town, which truly has so much to offer,” said Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli.

Apartments at The Waterton have:

  • 11-foot ceilings
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows
  • Modern kitchens with quartz countertops, designer tile backsplashes, stainless steel appliances including gas ranges and islands

  • Walk-in closets with custom shelving
  • Each apartment has a full-size washer and dryer
  • ButterflyMX™ smartphone video intercom system

Many of the first-floor apartment also have self-contained rear yards "that are ideal for families with children and pets," said the developer.

“The Waterton gives residents the best of both worlds — the calm of the suburbs with its location on a charming, private cul-de-sac, coupled with easy access to the city and downtown Secaucus’ vibrant restaurants, retail and entertainment,” said Lara Schwager, senior vice president of development at PIRHL.

These are the common areas at the Waterton:
