20-Year-Old Killed In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Middlesex County

The crash took place near the intersection of Route 1 South and College Road in Plainsboro, authorities said.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - A 20-year-old Somerset man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Plainsboro on Friday, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.

Around 1:04 a.m. on Friday, the Plainsboro Police Department responded to a crash near the intersection of Route 1 South and College Road in Plainsboro. On their arrival, authorities found an Acura TSX, a dump truck, and a Hyundai Genesis that were involved in the crash.

According to the initial investigation, the Acura TSX crashed into the back of the dump truck, causing it to be propelled into the left lane. As a result, the dump truck was struck by the Hyundai Genesis.

The driver of the Acura TSX, Johnathan Martinez, 20, of Somerset, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the Acura TSX sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Capital Health Medical Center in Trenton, where he remains in critical condition, authorities said.

The drivers of the Hyundai Genesis and the dump truck are currently in stable condition and sustained minor injuries.
