Pancake fundraiser for South Brunswick Eagle Scout injured in plane crash, Freedom Festival, fireworks and more highlight weekend events in and around South Brunswick.

Children's Theater: From the Page (Ages 3 & Up), 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 4 p.m.
After hearing bedtime stories, the characters from the children's stories will come to life "From the Page" Come join Little Red Riding Hood, the Genie, Peter Pan and more as they experience life outside of the story book with their new friend. Presented by talented young artists from the Art Commission.

Live bands, fireworks, festival foods, kids entertainment, beer and wine garden.
Color Wars!, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 2 p.m.This is a fun game where all participants are placed into teams and are assigned a color. They will hide and look for other teams and blast them with powdered colors...in the end, everyone should end up completely covered. There might be a winner, perhaps not...after all, the fun is in the mess. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting messy in. All color powders are non-toxic.

Tim Monticchio is a 19-year-old Monmouth Junction resident. He and his family are very active in the community and Tim is an Eagle Scout from Troop 10. Tim was injured in a plane crash in Linden on May 31. The pilot Craig MacCallum died as a result of his injuries. Tim has had numerous surgeries and is still in hospital but doing well. The Knights of Columbus Council 7046 will be holding a pancake breakfast fundraiser to help both families affected by this tragedy. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
