5 Things in South Brunswick This Weekend

Magic show and movie in the park highlight weekend events in and around South Brunswick.

Friday

"John's Magic Show" and "Movie in the Park,"  Beechwoods Park 137 Beekman Rd, 7 p.m.

This evenings is full of family fun activities. Starting at 7 p.m. with the amazing "John's Magic Show." The Northeast's top magician will perform his magic under the stars. Children will be amazed. Following the magic show there will be a movie in the park. Come out to enjoy the movie, "The Lorax" under the stars.  Movie start time will begin at dusk, approximately 8:45 p.m. There will be snack foods, water and ice cream available for purchase. 

Saturday

Aromatherapy Club - Sun, Fun, and Stress Away Workshop, 57 Sand Hills Rd., Kendall Park, NJ - Sand Hills Community Wellness Center, 9:30 a.m.

Join certified aromatherapist Tara Malouf as she shows participants (ages 13 and up) how to make their own sun care products (including sunscreen and an organic facial mask) and a stress-reducing room spray.  Learn about how the skin protects the body from a holistic point of view.  Learn about the healing benefits of aromatherapy.  Cost of workshop is $25 and includes supplies and products that you can take home with you.

Hurricane Preparedness WorkshopThe Home Depot, 4095 U.S. Hwy. 1 South, Monmouth Junction, 10 a.m.

This workshop is designed to help customers in hurricane-affected markets prepare their homes, families and businesses for a possible hurricane.  Organizations that will be present to answer all your questions are: FEMA,  South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management, Allstate, etc. Customers will learn about generator safety; sizing generators for specific home or business needs; what to include in an emergency/disaster preparedness kit; how to safely store their valuables; and projects they can do to protect their homes in the event of a storm. There will also be a Kids Workshop table and there will be light refreshments. The workshop is free to the public.

GRAND OPENING EVENT: Eye Level Learning Center at Dayton12 Stults Road, Suite 138, Dayton, 1 p.m.

Open HouseThe Learning Experience, 3754 Route 1, Monmouth Junction, 11 a.m.

The Learning Experience is hosting an open house on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Come on in and see the school. There will be activities for children as well.
