Friday

Independence Day Celebration & FireworksCrossroads South Middle School on the corner of Major Road and Kingston Lane, 6 p.m.

Food vendors, free entertainment, activites and music from 6 - 8:30 p.m.; fireworks at dusk (about 9 p.m.). Rain date: (fireworks only) Saturday, July 6 at 8:45 p.m. Call 732-329-4000, ext. 7686 after 2 p.m. if weather is inclement on July 5.

South Brunswick PuppeteersSouth Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 4:30 p.m.

South Brunswick Puppeteers will be holding a special summer session.  Practice will be once a week and the show will be on Aug 2.  This group is open to all in grades 5 and up.  For more information, contact Saleena at southbrunswickteentalk@yahoo.com

Specifically designed for families, this Saturday Storytime is open to all children and their caretakers.

Family Fun Festival - Children of All Ages and their Families, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, noon-4 p.m.

Face painting, henna tattoos, balloon animals, crafts, games, performances; plus information booth from local business and non-profit organizations. Program sponsored by the Friends of the South Brunswick Public Library. All are welcome.

Central Jersey (geek) Culture Appreciation, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 1:30 p.m.

A group of friendly, open-minded, mostly 20 and 30-somethings whose interests run the gamut from Buffy to Doctor Who, Comic Books to Lord of the Rings, Cranium to Dungeons and Dragons and far more.  If you have a geeky interest, one of us probably shares it!  The group gets together for board games, video games, movies, talking, etc.
