75-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Struck On Route 27 In South Brunswick

According to authorities, the man was not using a crosswalk when he attempted to cross Route 27.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – A 75-year-old Jersey City man died after being struck in South Brunswick on Thursday, police said.

Officers responded at 9:21 p.m. to reports of a pedestrian struck near Henderson Road, where they found Neville Drozario of Jersey City unconscious and bleeding, authorities said.

Emergency responders, including officers, Kendall Park First Aid Squad members, and paramedics, provided life-saving treatment at the scene. Drozario was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to the South Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau, Drozario was not using a crosswalk when he attempted to cross Route 27.

He was struck by a 2015 Ford F-150 traveling in the northbound left lane. The 63-year-old Franklin Park man driving the pickup truck remained at the scene following the collision, authorities said.
